Established in 2004, Edinburgh Stonecraft has over 20 years experience in the Stone and Building Industry
At Edinburgh Stonecraft, we specialise in the conservation and restoration of historic stone buildings, ensuring their longevity through expert craftsmanship and traditional techniques. Based in Edinburgh, we serve private, domestic, and commercial clients across Scotland and the UK, providing high-quality stonemasonry services, from stone repairs and lime pointing to new-build stonework.

Meet the Team
David Halliday
Founder & Head Stonemason
With decades of experience in the stone industry, David Halliday leads Edinburgh Stonecraft with a commitment to craftsmanship and conservation. Having worked for Historic Scotland and as a Site Manager, David brings extensive expertise in traditional masonry techniques. His qualifications include an NPA in Conservation Masonry and Architecture, an HNC in Building Design and Technology, and an Advanced Craft City & Guilds in Stonemasonry. Under his leadership, Edinburgh Stonecraft continues to preserve and restore Scotland’s historic buildings to the highest standards.
Kyle Muir
Trainee Stonemason
Kyle joined Edinburgh Stonecraft just before his 16th birthday and has been developing his skills ever since. An East Lothian native, he has quickly become a valued member of the team, gaining hands-on experience in stonemasonry and deepening his passion for built heritage. He particularly enjoys working on properties of architectural significance and takes great pride in helping to restore Edinburgh’s historic structures. Outside of work, Kyle is a dedicated football supporter and often travels to watch his team in action.
